Management Accountant

The Role

We are looking for a Management Accountant to take on a pivotal role within our Finance team. This position is ideal for a post-qualified professional seeking a diverse role. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing various financial tasks including the production of the monthly management accounts and KPI’s.

The role is based in Nottingham but must also be easily commutable to one of our other sites near Hinckley, Leicestershire.

Main tasks, duties and responsibilities

  • Hands on preparation of the monthly management accounts within agreed reporting deadlines, this will include journals, accruals and accrued income.
  • Preparation of relevant balance sheet reconciliations, in line with group policy, then actioning any review points with the business stakeholders.
  • Preparing and evaluating monthly KPI’s.
  • Completion of intercompany reconciliations.
  • Completion of quarterly VAT returns.
  • Optimising and developing use of the accounting system (NetSuite).
  • Modelling the 13 week rolling cash flow model.
  • Assisting in the annual audit process.
  • Review, develop and document business processes to maintain and strengthen internal controls.
  • Acting as a business partner to key stakeholders.
  • Advising on any financial risks and suggesting improvements.
  • Other ad hoc duties as required.

Skills / Qualifications requirements

  • Part Qualified/Qualified accountant (CIMA, ACA, ACCA etc) with experience in a similar role.
  • Relevant management accounting experience in month-end close and reporting.
  • Excellent IT and systems experience including MS Office and ERP (NetSuite desirable).
  • A business process improvement mindset – to drive improvements in processes and company performance.
  • A ‘can-do’ attitude to a varied and interesting workload.
  • Good interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to use your own initiative.
