Miki eBusiness
Travel and leisure
Miki Travel was founded in 1967 and is world renowned for its vast portfolio of travel products including tens and thousands of transfer services, accommodation options and exciting excursions worldwide.
It was utilising the soon to be out-of-support, on-premise Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) Solution Microsoft Dynamics AX 2009, and the business wanted to increase efficiency by migrating to the latest version of Microsoft’s ERP system: Dynamics 365 Finance and Supply Chain Management (D365 F&SCM).
The archaic system didn’t afford the functionality for Miki eBusiness to streamline financial processes in a way that they wanted or provide opportunities for augmented integration and automation. The firm also wanted to move away from an on-premise solution and take advantage of the cloud, while having greater visibility over data and benefit from a more powerful business intelligence tool.
After significant collaborative discovery, NoBlue2 designed a solution which incorporated several integrated finance applications, including general ledger, budgeting and sales tax, banking, accounts receivable and accounts payable. The cloud ERP solution’s accounting and financial architecture was bespoke to Miki’s process flow and reporting requirements, meaning developers modified the system and created bespoke customisations.
Significant efficiencies were achieved by building integrations between the Miki tour (holiday) booking system and D365 F&SCM where sales orders were automatically created in F&SCM from which back-to-back purchase orders were also automatically created and processed for items such as hotel room bookings.
Users at Miki eBusiness benefit from a more friendly and intuitive interface, elevated functionality and greater sharing of relevant information throughout the Miki team. D365 F&SCM comes with powerful analytics capabilities – Power BI – so the global team now has excellent visibility into their financial performance, allowing them to make data-driven decisions more easily.
Integrated and automated workflows have reduced the need for many time-consuming, manual tasks, allowing financial teams to focus on more strategic activities. For example, integrating their tour booking system with and D365 D&SCM facilitates automated sales and purchase orders; with over 2,000 orders being processed per day, significant efficiencies have been realised.
