Passkey 2FA, bank reconciliation automation, AI-led inventory optimisation, and the 2027.1 deprecations you need to plan for — inside NetSuite 2026.2.
Read the latest blog post from Kyler Hofton, Head of Support at NoBlue2.
If you’re not sure how to check your version of NetSuite, take a look at our last Release blog for a quick walk-through. (One thing to note: all updates are always subject to change until released.)
Now that you know where you stand, let’s get into the things to look out for in this release…
If you’re security-conscious and want to keep your data safe, you can now use a passkey as your 2FA authenticator. As long as you use a passkey that complies with FIDO2, you can use it as a second authentication factor during your login.
Configuration: Administrators can disable this feature; if they do, users with FIDO2-compliant passkeys will need to fall back to another authenticator app for 2FA.
Benefits to you:
The NetSuite 2026.2 release brings a lot of changes in the Banking world; improved audit trails and automation are the key trends. Here are my highlights:
With 2026.2 you can now check who made the changes as well as who matched transactions on your statements from the bank. This will give you a transparent view of the lifecycle of the reconciliation — who performed an action and when, giving you more faith in your data integrity.
You can also add Reconciliation status and date reconciled fields within the transaction searches and specific accounting reports, giving you even more visibility of your bank reconciliation transactions.
Benefits to you:
Configuration: This will be enabled automatically. To view it, open the related transaction record and select System Information.
We just spoke about the audit trails and increased transparency brought into one of the most sensitive areas of the system. Now let’s talk about the automation that comes with it. There is now a new match suggestions workspace, where NetSuite can suggest matches for transactions. One thing to note, as always: it’s worth sense-checking each suggestion to make sure you’re happy with it, and you can do that in the new ‘Match Suggestions’ subtab.
The above also allows payments to be created and applied against open invoices and any payable items you may have. This one can take a real chunk out of your workload. Previously, NetSuite could only record a customer payment and mark a customer invoice as paid, based on your bank transactions. Now it can also create a vendor bill payment and mark the vendor bill as paid off the back of those same transactions.
If you’re using EBP this may not apply but if you still manage payments externally this will vastly reduce the time taken to process.
Benefits to you:
One thing to note:
Unfortunately, we won’t have the deep AI enhancements that are available in the US just yet, but these will come shortly. This will provide more matching assistance and accuracy.
One area that continues to grow within NetSuite is the Field Service Management tool, and 2026.2 brings further changes to help your technicians submit information your teams can actually use. A new Clean up button tidies technician notes and brings clarity to them before they go back for review. This feature is available for supported fields that use the textarea element type and supports 27 languages.
Benefits to you:
Configuration: This is turned off by default. To make it available, you’ll first need to set up an Oracle OCI account and configure OCI Credentials for AI — NoBlue2 Support can help with this. One thing to note: we can enable it globally or only for specific text areas.
You can now transfer Vendor Consigned items between bins within the same Location. If you choose to include a non-consigned item, you can’t assign it a consigned Inventory status; this will prevent an ownership transfer.
Whether you’re a seasonal business or one that is growing rapidly, you always want to ensure you have enough stock to deal with demand. This is where the inventory optimisation features come into play. You can set parameters around demand patterns, lead times
One additional point: inventory segmentation (ABC) lets you define service levels independently, and these are factored into the calculation of planning parameters.
Benefits to you:
Configuration:
Setup > Company > Enable Features > Items & Inventory subtab > tick Inventory Optimization. You will then need to change the eligible reorder point items in the inventory optimisation.
What next? Set your preferences for optimisation, review the nine predefined inventory optimisation segmentation records, include any eligible items in inventory optimisation.
*Per-Location segmentation requires the advanced item location configuration features.
Benefits to you:
Configuration:
Setup > Import/Export > Import CSV Records > select the Accounting import type > select the Price Rule or Price Rule Entry record type.
In this 45-minute webinar, Kyler Hofton, Head of Support, and Tommaso Pasetti, Principal Pre-Sales Consultant at NoBlue2, will walk you through the latest new features, and what they mean for your day-to-day operations.
With the NetSuite 2026.2 Release, we start talking about deprecating some old features. Below is what to expect and when you need to act:
Unlike TBA, this one does break things: from 2027.1 any integration or script still authenticating with NLAuth will stop working, so audit and migrate to OAuth 2.0 before then.
When: NetSuite 2027.1 Release
From 2027.1 you won’t be able to create new TBA integrations — this covers the IssueToken endpoint and the three-step TBA authorisation flow. Existing TBA integrations keep working; full end of support for TBA is tentatively planned for 2028.1.
When: NetSuite 2027.1 Release
PKCE was optional and you could choose whether to use it; however, as of 2027.1 it will be required for all new integrations that use OAuth 2.0. Good thing to note: existing integrations WON’T break and will continue working.
When: NetSuite 2027.1 Release
