Company overview

Elevate Outdoor Collective is America’s original ski and snowboard brand, founded in 1962 in Washington State. Known worldwide for its snowboarding, ski equipment and apparel, Elevate Outdoor Collective serves outdoor enthusiasts with innovative, premium quality products. Headquartered in Seattle, the company has built a strong presence across international markets, delivering advanced solutions for the adventure sports industry.

Their portfolio spans twelve household names across skiing, snowboarding and outdoor equipment: K2 Skis, K2 Snowboarding, K2 Skates, Marker Bindings, Völkl Skis, Dalbello Boots, Ride Snowboards, Line Skis, Backcountry Access, Atlas Snowshoe Co. and Tubbs Snowshoes.

Backed by a private equity investor and pursuing continued global growth, Elevate Outdoor Collective recognised the need to modernise its business systems, replacing a patchwork of legacy platforms with a single, scalable foundation built to support its international ambitions.

The Challenge

Before partnering with NoBlue2, Elevate Outdoor Collective’s global subsidiaries relied on multiple disparate, on-premises legacy systems. These no longer aligned with the company’s vision for a single global platform, creating real difficulty in adapting to new market requirements, managing multi-country operations and consolidating core business functions.

With clear plans to expand into further international markets, Elevate Outdoor Collective needed an ERP platform flexible and scalable enough to support that growth: one capable of centralising data and streamlining operations across an expanding group of entities.

It has proven to be a multi-year challenge. Even as later phases of the rollout have gone live, some of the group’s larger entities are still running on legacy systems today, underlining just how significant an undertaking full global consolidation is for a multi-brand, multi-geography business.

“That’s still a challenge for us. We have two large entities that are still running on legacy systems, and the plan is to bring them onto NetSuite too.”

Travis Hahn, VP Global IT, Elevate Outdoor Collective

“While a global transformation towards NetSuite seems insurmountably challenging since 2022, however engaging NoBlue2 as our trusted partner was the right thing to do and made things a whole lot easier.”

Danny Lee, Senior Project Manager, Elevate Outdoor Collective

The solution

Elevate Outdoor Collective began its ERP transformation with NoBlue2 in 2022, starting with its North American operations in Seattle. The project launched in early 2022 and went live that October, with an extended Hypercare phase to ensure a seamless transition.

NoBlue2 delivered a tailored NetSuite implementation, including:

  • NetSuite OneWorld for seamless multi-country management
  • Wholesale Distribution Premium Edition to streamline core distribution and inventory processes
  • Leverages Celigo as integration middleware to connect NetSuite with surrounding systems, and Avalara for automated tax compliance.

Building on this foundation, NoBlue2 and Elevate Outdoor Collective have continued a steady, phased rollout ever since:

  • Canada: extending the proven global blueprint, with customisations for local legal requirements and a new third-party logistics (3PL) integration
  • New Hampshire: consolidating MDV USA’s entities, systems and processes into the Seattle operation, replicating the established approach and enhancing NetSuite’s Warehouse Management System (WMS) alongside ShipHawk’s Transportation Management System (TMS), plus a functional intra-site ordering process with Elevate’s EU IFS systems
  • Seattle: integrating and optimising a second new 3PL partner and system alongside the existing warehouse setup

Each phase has followed a consistent, repeatable pattern, giving Elevate Outdoor Collective’s leadership confidence that new subsidiaries can be brought online without disrupting those already live.

“NoBlue2 has been an invaluable partner in our multi-year transition to NetSuite. Their expertise and hands-on support ensured a seamless implementation, pre and post go-live, allowing us to streamline operations and unlock the full potential of our ERP system.”

The results

NetSuite’s cloud-based infrastructure has given Elevate Outdoor Collective a robust, scalable platform to support its global growth strategy:

  • Streamlined Operations: Improved wholesale and distribution efficiency through standardized workflows, inventory visibility, and reduced manual processes.
  • Data Centralization: Established a single source of truth for operational and financial reporting, enabling faster and more accurate business decisions.
  • Scalability: Reduced ERP technical debt from 100% to 29% and created a global platform capable of supporting future growth, acquisitions, and market expansion.

Working together

Beyond the implementation itself, Elevate Outdoor Collective has valued NoBlue2’s approach to ongoing support. Having previously worked with a provider whose support model relied on rigid quarterly billing with no rollover hours, and which tended to push additional products rather than the work that was actually needed, the team found NoBlue2’s more flexible, relationship-led model, including rollover hours and transparent ticket handling, a welcome change.

“We really pushed to get NoBlue2 supporting us because we wanted off our previous provider. They weren’t operating in a way we liked. It’s a different experience with NoBlue2.”

Travis Hahn, VP Global IT, Elevate Outdoor Collective

“Regardless of implementation or support model, NoBlue2 always brings the right expertise and talent to the table, elevating partner relationship to the next level.”

Danny Lee, Senior Project Manager Elevate Outdoor Collective

Future plans

With successful rollouts across its US, Canada, and Japanese operations, Elevate Outdoor Collective’s ERP journey continues. The next phase focuses on bringing its two remaining large legacy entities onto NetSuite, extending the same proven, phased approach that has underpinned the programme since 2022.

At NoBlue2, we’re proud to support Elevate Outdoor Collective as a trusted long-term partner, helping them embrace innovation, achieve their strategic goals and thrive on the global stage.
