Finance & Consolidation
Financial consolidation is mechanical: aggregate, eliminate, translate, adjust, report. The rules are stable and well understood, yet the quarterly close still takes weeks and often depends on the one or two people who know where every adjustment lives. We build close and consolidation on Pigment so your controllers spend their time on judgement and exceptions, not on mechanics.
Consolidation starts with scope: which entities are included, at what ownership, by which method. When that lives in a spreadsheet maintained by one person, every downstream number inherits its blind spots. We build the scope as the single, versioned definition the whole close runs from.
The close depends on entities submitting on time and passing controls, and in most groups the controller finds out where each one stands by chasing emails. We build the close as something the controller watches live, with exceptions surfacing on day one rather than day twelve.
Intercompany matching, currency translation and adjustments are where the hours of a close actually go, even though the rules themselves are stable. We systematise the execution, so intercompany mismatches are documented before consolidation runs and FX impact can be modelled ahead of time.
Produce both statutory and management views from one set of entity data, so the two are reconciled by construction rather than by manual bridging. Consolidated P&L, balance sheet and cash flow drill straight through to the entity, account and journal behind every number.
We start with the part of the close that costs the most time, whether that’s intercompany matching, scope or the statutory-to-management bridge, and prove it against a period you’ve already closed. Your controllers run it from there, adding entities and adjusting the framework as the group changes. For NoBlue2 customers already on NetSuite, Pigment connects directly for scheduled actuals imports, so consolidated reporting draws on the same trusted financial data.
| “When you have an EPM system that’s not trusted by the organization, then there is low engagement, which means low quality inputs, and low quality outputs. With Pigment, we managed to gain trust pretty fast, because data is readily available, it’s user friendly, and you see the results fast. We have 800 metrics already in our model, which will continue to grow” | “With Pigment, we’ve already seen significant improvements. Tasks that used to take days are now completed in minutes. This has boosted morale within the team, as they feel they now have tools that allow them to showcase their capabilities” |
